Straight from John Morris's granddaughter, Amber, is this easy and delicious granola recipe! Crank up the oven for those that need a tasty snack this fall break!
Ingredients:
7 cups of Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
1/2 cup of sliced or slivered almond pieces (can also sub for walnuts)
1/2 cup of Wheat Germ
1/4 cup light brown sugar (optional)
1/2 to 1 tbsp of ground cinnamon (optional)
1/2 cup of oil (pressed coconut or canola will do)
1/2 cup of honey
1 tsp of vanilla
1/2 cup of raisins or cranraisins (optional)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
Mix oats, almonds, wheat germ, brown sugar, and cinnamon together. Add oil, honey, vanilla and mix well.
Pour into a lightly greased 9 by 13 pan. Bake for 20 minutes and stir.
Bake for an additional 15 minutes and stir.
Bake for another 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Once removed, stir in raisins and allow to cool completely.
Store in an airtight container. Eat as cereal or add to your favorite yogurt!
