Kathy resides in Morris, Alabama with her husband Alvin. She has been president of the Women's Committee since 2015 and served on the state Women's Committee for six years. 

The purpose of the Women's Committee is to support and implement programs sponsored by the Jefferson County Farmers Federation and to encourage women to take an active part in all areas of agricultural endeavor. The committee initiates and supports programs to stimulate interest and affords women the opportunities to become active participants in helping to tell the farm story.

Activities include participating in community agricultural events such as: Earth Day at the Gardens, Warrior Day, Ag in the Classroom, Career Days, as well as supporting legislative endeavors involving agricultural interests, and cooperating with state supported programs like the Heritage Cooking Contest and Farm City Week.
